Sewage sludge

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) produce considerable amount of dewatered sewage sludge that is either landfilled or land applied as fertilizer.

Anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge is used to reduce amounts of sludge to dewater and dispose. Moreover, anaerobic digestion stabilizes the sludge (odor) and produces energy to offset WWTP treatment cost.

Electrigaz offers study, design, project management, digester start-up, digester optimization, biogas utilization engineering services to WWTP owners and operators.

Electrigaz has also developed specialised expertise in co-digestion of sludge with other substrates (grease trap, food waste, manure, etc.) to improve digesters biology, biogas production, gate fee revenues and overall plant efficiency.
